1 - The Observatron - Tomorrowland 2055 Theme  3:15

 

When the spinning Rocket Jets were remodeled and relocated from the second level PeopleMover station platform to the main entrance of Tomorrowland, a new kinetic Tomorrowland centerpiece was put in its place. Every quarter hour the Observatron comes to life through motion and music, looking for possible life on planets far away.

2 - Rocket Rods  8:17

 

This temporary replacement of the PeopleMover utilized the same elevated track for a high speed trip around Tomorrowland, but it proved to be a maintenance nightmare, so it was permanently closed shortly after a year. The exit area music was adapted from a Sherman Brothers song written for the 1967 film "The Happiest Millionaire."

3 - Innoventions - Area Background Music  2:44

 

This series of corporate sponsored exhibits, showcasing the latest in technological advancements, is housed within the former home of the Carousel of Progress. As a nod to the past, the theme song for this pavilion is adapted from the original carousel theater song, with the new lyrics. "There's a bright new world of innoventions."

4 - Honey, I Shrunk the Audience  3:18

 

This 3D film adventure was based on the successful Disney comedies starring Rick Moranis as the eccentric inventor Dr. Wayne Zalinski. In synchronization with the film, the entire auditorium vibrated, and along with the 3D visual effects and binaural sounds the entire audience experienced the sensation of shrinking.

5 - Tomorrowland Area Background Music  18:43

 

After Tomorrowland underwent its latest refurbishment in 1998, the atmosphere music heard throughout much of this area in Disneyland is a mixture of modern electro-synthetic musical impressions, interwoven with recognizable themes from Disney's many film productions and former attractions from tomorrow's past.

6 - Club Buzz - Calling All Space Scouts  17:53

 

In 2000, the Tomorrowland Terrace was re-themed as Club Buzz, riding the heels of the blockbuster movie "Toy Story 2." The Terrace stage presented a new interactive stage show inviting space scouts to help Buzz Lightyear save the planet, once again, from the evil emperor Zurg, along with the help of space cadet Starla and the little green aliens.

7 - Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters  6:01

 

This fully interactive ride is based on the Disney/Pixar film, Toy Story. Junior space cadets board a space cruiser armed with astro-blasting canons, and aim at animated targets representing the robot army of the evil emperor Zurg. Points are tabulated at the conclusion of the ride and each passenger is assigned a squadron rank.

8 - The StarCade  1:48

 

What land of the future would be complete without a video arcade? The StarCade in Tomorrowland first opened in 1977, right on the heels of the video game revolution of the early 1980's. Since that time it has featured the very latest in video games, but for the less technologically savvy, one can still find air hockey and pinball machines.

9 - Space Mountain 2005  3:18

 

In 1996, each Space Mountain rocket was given an on board sound system. This provided synchronized narration, sound effects and music, adding a new level of dramatic excitement to the climbs dips and twists of this white knuckle race through the cosmos. Following an extensive remodel in 2005, a new soundtrack was added.

10 - Space Mountain 2005 - Exit Corridor Area Background Music  5:17

 

The new Space Mountain soundtrack was composed by Michael Giacchino, and is the same version used for the new Space Mountain ride at Disneyland Park in Hong Kong, China. A more anti-climactic version of the in-flight music can heard again at ground level, as space travelers make their way through the exit corridor.

11 - Rockin' Space Mountain  2:40

 

In 2007, Space Mountain was temporarily transformed into an amazing rock concert rocket trip. The normal Space Mountain effects were replaced with stadium strobe lighting, and a special soundtrack was performed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The seasonal overlay was a one time event, and did not return the following year.

12 - Mickey's Star Trader - Area Background Music  1:08:50

 

Mickey's Star Trader is located at the exit to Star Tours; therefore a good portion of the store is devoted to Star Wars merchandise. The atmosphere music often heard here is by Moog synthesizer pioneers Jean-Jacques Perry and Gershon Kingsley, the same collaborators behind the theme music of the Main Street Electrical Parade.

13 - Mark VII Disneyland Monorail  4:36

 

In 2008, a seventh generation Monorail began daily operations in Tomorrowland. The new Mark VII takes its aesthetic cues from the original 1959 Monorail trains, married with the latest in streamlined aerodynamic design. After over half a century, the Monorail retains its standing as a true innovation in transportation.

14 - Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage  14:05

 

Disneyland's classic underwater adventure received a modern makeover, resurfacing as the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage in 2007. The new adventure uses amazing underwater digital projections to bring to life many of the colorful characters from the soon to be classic Disney/Pixar animated feature Finding Nemo.

15 - Star Tours: The Adventures Continue - Area Background Music  1:22:15

 

Star Tours has consistently been one of the most popular Disneyland  attractions since 1987. Even on a moderate day of attendance, the queue can stretch far beyond the main entrance. Until 2011 no area music could be heard outside the indoor spaceport, but for 2.0, a special mix of John Williams' Star Wars classics was added to the extended queue.

16 - Star Tours: The Adventures Continue - Travel & Tourism Ad  1:09

 

A large screen on the northern wall of the Tomorrowland spaceport entertains guests as they await their Star Tour adventure. The screen displays a loop of travel and tourism ads. But in keeping with the theme, all of the destinations being promoted are within the Star Wars universe, including Dagobah, the Moon of Endor and the snow planet of Hoth.

17 - Star Tours: The Adventures Continue - Spaceport Music  10:30

 

Quite a bit of new music was incorporated into the indoor spaceport queue area for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. Much of this was used as underscore for the travel and tourism ads displayed on a large overhead monitor as well as general mood music throughout the attraction, much of it based on or inspired by the original Star Tours.

18 - Stormtrooper Guest Interactions  6:48

 

With the launch of Star Tours 2.0, a new interactive guest experience was added to the surrounding area. Guest waiting in line for Star Tours, or perusing the Tomorrowland, vicinity may have an unexpected encounter with the stormtroopers of the Imperial guard, who give out stern commands and exchange insults with bewildered onlookers.

19 - Season of the Force - Area Background Music  48:27

 

The Season of the Force was musically enhanced with a blending of many beloved John Williams'  instrumental themes from the Star Wars movie franchise. This iconic music could be heard throughout all of Tomorrowland, including over at the Tomorrowland Terrace outdoor restaurant, which was temporarily renamed the "Galactic Grill."

- Star Wars: Launch Bay -

 

What was formerly the Innoventions building received a major refurbishment in 2015. Today it is known as Star Wars: Launch Bay. Inside, on display are countless props and costumes used in the making of the Star Wars, and meet and greet areas with characters from both the dark side and light side of the force. Some of the well-known settings from the Star Wars universe have also been replicated, including the infamous Cantina bar.

26 - Tomorrowland Theater - Path of the Jedi  10:36

 

Tomorrowland's indoor theater,  former venue for such 3-D attractions as "Captain EO" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience," presented a special compilation of scenes from the Star Wars franchise as part of Season of the Force. The film showcased memorable moments  from each episode in order to explore the mystical force of the Jedi knights.

On May the 4th, 2018, a  popular Star Wars themed presentation began  performances several times daily in Tomorrowland after its debut during the Disneyland After Dark, Star Wars Nite event. Captain Phasma and her menacing band of Stormtroopers emerge from the Star Wars Launch Bay and march throughout the Tomorrowland area.
