1 - The New Tomorrowland - Introduction  0:56

By the mid 1960's, the future had already caught up with Walt Disney's original vision for the world of tomorrow, and so an all new Tommorowland debuted in 1967. New Tomorrowland included such innovative attractions as the Wedway PeopleMover, Adventure Through Inner Space and the General Electric Carousel of Progress.

2 - The Wedway PeopleMover - Introduction  0:51

Disneyland's new Tomorrowland of 1967 introduced a revolutionary new concept in mass transportation, the Wedway PeopleMover. A similar ride system was originally developed by Disney for the 1964 New York World's Fair, and was used to propel Ford convertible automobiles through the Magic Skyway ride-throughattraction.

3 - PeopleMover Loading Platform - Go Go Goodyear  6:34

The Wedway PeopleMover was originally sponsored by the Goodyear Tire corporation, and  in 1967 Goodyear's television ad jingle became the official theme song of the Disneyland attraction. The PeopleMover cars themeselves had no motor, but were powered by Goodyear tires embedded every few feet along the track.

4 - Tour of the New Tomorrowland - A World on the Move  8:58

The PeopleMover cars never stopped moving, even as passengers boarded and deboarded from a moving platform. These four car transporters carried guests through Tomorrowland's many buildings, and on a scenic tour of the Autopia freeway and submarine lagoon, providing a preview of all the surrounding attractions.

5 - Adventure Through Inner Space - Queue Background Music  5:02

The Monsanto corporation was the corporate sponsor of one of Tomorrowland's latest attractions, an amazing adventure into the microscopic world of atoms and molecules. The dramatic Hollywood-esque sci-fi inspired music heard throughout the attraction captured perfectly the mysterious mood of this strange journey.

6 - Adventure Through Inner Space  11:48

At the Adventure Through Inner Space guests rode atommobiles into the mighty microscope where they were reduced to the size of a single atom, entering the mysterious world found within a snowflake crystal. The familiar narrator who guided you through this fabulous journey was veteran Disney vocalist, Paul Frees.

7 - Adventure Through Inner Space - Miracles from Molecules  6:14

At the conclusion of their amazing ride through Inner Space, guests entered the Miracles from Molecules display area. The Sherman Brothers composed a catchy new theme song for this exhibit which replaced the similarly themed Monsanto exhibit from the original Tomorrowland, known as the Hall of Chemistry.

8 - McDonnell Douglas Flight to the Moon  12:40

The original Rocket to the Moon lost its towering rocket icon but gained a new Audio-Animatronic mission control center after its 1967 remodel. This attraction's many predictions were realized just two years later, when the famed Apollo mission landed man on the actual moon. The news event was televised live in Tomorrowland.

9 - America the Beautiful - Circle Vision 360  17:36

An updated version of the original America the Beautiful premiered at the new Tomorrowland in 1967. It was shot using the newly developed 35 millimeter camera. This produced a much sharper image and reduced the number of screen projections needed down from 15 to 9. The new production included a sweeping musical score.

10 - Bell Telephone - Character Phones  3:58

Bell Telephone was the corporate sponsor of Tomorowland's Circle Vision theater. At the conclusion to the America the Beautiful presentation, audiences exited through a lobby area containing several interactive exhibits, including a set of telephones where guests could listen to conversations with their favorite Disney characters.

11 - The Character Shop - Area Background Music  9:55

Within Tomorrowland's two main show buildings, decorated with colorful tile murals by Disney artisan Mary Blair, were many exhibits, shops and restaurants. The Character Shop was the largest souvenir spot in Disneyland outside of Main Street, and featured a modern way to window shop with multiple rotating displays.

12 - Carousel of Progress - General Electric Introduction  0:59

As far back as 1958, Walt Disney had planned to create a new section in Disneyland to be called Edison Square, featuring a walk-through tour that would showcase the progress made possible though the use of electricity. When General Electric became sponsor or this attraction, it would evolve into an Animatronic theatrical stage show.

13 - Carousel of Progress - Queue Area Background Music  4:42

A highlight of Tomorrowland '67 was the Disneyland homecoming of the carousel theater show from the 1964 New York World's Fair. The optimistic theme song from the Carousel of Progress, "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow," was written by the Sherman Brothers, and could be heard throughout the entire attraction.

14 - General Electric's Carousel of Progress  19:31

The carousel theater rotated audiences around a central core of scenes, each progressively showcasing the American home and an average American family during four different eras of the 20th century, including the early 1900's, the Roaring 20's, the Fabulous 40's, and the not too distant future as it was projected in the 1960's.

15 - Carousel of Progress - Progress City  5:47

Following the carousel show, audiences were ushered to the second floor of the theater to view a model community known as Progress City. This elaborate miniature display was a blueprint for the proposed experimental prototype community of tomorrow, or Epcot Center, planned for the future Walt Disney World in Florida.

16 - Carousel of Progress - Instrumental Score  6:50

The theme music of the Carousel of Progress was cleverly orchestrated in several musical styles reflecting the many different eras in music that coincided with the multiple time periods featured within the show, from ragtime, to jazz, to swing, and concluding with a sweeping arrangement reflective of the optimism of the 1960's.

17 - Tomorrowland Terrace Bandstand - The Mustangs  9:14

The new Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant included a dance floor with an unusual bandstand that elevated from below the ground. Many popular bands have performed here over the years. One notable early group was a rock 'n roll band with a surfer beat, known as The Mustangs, who were Disneyland regulars thoughout the 1960's.

18 - Original Kids of the Kingdom - The Tomorrowland Stage  8:10

A regular feature of the updated Tomorrowland was a troupe of talented young singers known as the Kids of the Kingdom. They often performed at Tomorrowland's large new outdoor theater, or at the Tomorrowland Terrace bandstand. Many new generations of this group continued to perform in Disneyland and Walt Disney World for decades.
